revive old dataset snapshot, and make current snapshot a separate dataset
I promoted a dataset from scratch space, and I thought it would add the data to an existing dataset. Instead it over-wrote it and created a new snapshot on top of the old snapshot for that dataset. How do I activate the previous snapshot, and move the current snapshot to be a separate dataset?
Thanks!

Hi Michelle,
To move the current snapshot to be a separate dataset, I would recommend that you create a new dataset and use the "Create with Interactive Workspace" option. You can then move your files from your current dataset to the new dataset by putting the files from the old dataset (/domino/datasets/local/<old_dataset_name>) into the /domino/datasets/output/<new_dataset_name> directory.
Now that you have the current snapshot of the original dataset copied over to the new dataset, you can revert the original back to the desired previous version using the instructions described here: https://docs.dominodatalab.com/en/3.6/reference/data/datasets/Datasets_advanced_mode_tutorial.html#reverting-a-dataset-to-a-previous-snapshot.
In the future when you wish to append data to an existing dataset, I recommend using the Advanced Mode of Datasets, described here: https://docs.dominodatalab.com/en/3.6/reference/data/datasets/Datasets_advanced_mode_tutorial.html#appending-to-a-dataset.
Please let us know if you have any questions on implementing any of these steps.
